Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do you work with?

I’ve worked with many types of conditions but specialize in working with those who have had their gallbladder removed and have chronic digestive issues like bloating, heartburn, IBS, and bile reflux.

What does a typical session look like?

The initial session is about 90 minutes and we will dive into your diet, lifestyle, medical history, sleep, stress, and more. A holistic approach addresses the whole person and we will work to uncover the cause of your health issues instead of just addressing symptoms. If appropriate, I will suggest lab testing. During the first follow-up session we will go over the protocol I have designed for you and work together to create health goals. During subsequent sessions we will assess how you are feeling, build upon your goals, and make adjustments as needed.

What is your training?

I received my nutrition consultant training through Hawthorn University. I have additional training through the Bioinduvidual Nutrition Institute and the School of Applied Functional Medicine. I also hold a Masters Degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes! I work with local clients at a location convenient to them or meet with distance clients via phone or video conferencing.

Do you take insurance?

I do not work directly with insurance companies. I can provide a superbill at the end of sessions to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement (if nutrition consultations are covered by your insurance.) You may be able to use your HSA to pay for sessions.

What types of payments do you accept?

I accept credit cards, and if meeting in person you also have the option of cash, or check.
